IHSAA seeking information on schools

August 27, 2001 By admin

The Iowa High School Athletic Association is looking for information on school districts of the past and present as part of a project for the new Iowa Hall of Pride. Jack Lashier is Special Projects Coordinator for the association and says the information will be used for computerized kiosks which will allow visitors to research all the schools in the state. Ideally, he says they’d like to have every past and present school district have information in the Hall. Lashier says they want the project to give a perspective of each school’s history. He says they want to find out about members of the school that went on to be successful, such as Donna Reed, who graduated from Denison.Lashier says as part of the Iowa Events Center the Hall of Pride will attract thousands of visitors and says the goal is to get information on the more than 400-high schools ready by the time it opens.Lashier says they eventually hope to include information about high schools that no longer exist.
