Man dies in ultralight crash

August 29, 2001 By admin

Hardin County authorities are investigating the crash of a small airplane that killed a north central Iowa man. A single-seat, ultra-light crashed Tuesday night near the Hardin County town of Owasa after getting tangled in power lines. Tests will be conducted to find out if medical reasons caused 46-year-old Wayne Mentzer, of Alden, to crash, or whether mechanical problems doomed the plane.
