Slain Sioux City family remembered today in service

September 4, 2001 By admin

The funeral was held this morning for the Sioux City woman and her five children who were murdered last week in their home. Hundreds of mourners attended the service at Cornerstone Faith Center, including many of the kids’ classmates. Pastor Cary Gordon said it’s important to forgive accused killer Adam Moss because that’s how the kids would want it. He says if people don’t forgive Moss, the killing spree continues.Thirty-two-year-old Leticia Aguilar was murdered along with her five children, Claudia, Lisa, Zach, Larry and Michael, who ranged in age from six to 12.Gordon says the children were well-raised by their mother, who he says felt it was important that their spiritual lives were well nourished.Pastor Gordon says the mother instilled in the children a strong spiritual base. He says the kids were “exceptional in every way” and he says he isn’t just saying that because of what happened.Moss is charged in the murders of Aguilar and the five children in addition to a Sioux City businessman, Ronald Fish.
