Grassley favors Homeland Security Office

The plan unveiled by President Bush last night to create a new Office of Homeland Security is getting a favorable nod from Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. He says the new position is one that could prove essential in this time of crisis.Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge was chosen by President Bush to head the new office. Ridge will direct the cabinet-level agency that will oversee and coordinate domestic strategies to stop terrorism. Grassley says Ridge is a respectable man and a good choice to spearhead the new effort.Grassley knew Ridge from when he served in the U-S House.Grassley says Ridge is committed to good law enforcement.
