Maquoketa band celebration to feature Patriotic theme

A long-time musical event in northeast Iowa will take on a patriotic theme this year. The City of Maquoketa’s 25th marching band festival will feature the theme “March for Freedom” in a salute to the victims of the September 11th attack. The chairman of the first ever event came up with the idea. People attending the event are asked to bring flags.
