Three Iowa Albertson’s stores to close

The company that owns Albertson’s grocery stores today announced it will close the three stores that operate in Iowa.Two Albertson’s stores in Des Moines and another in Urbandale will be closed. The Idaho-based company owns the rapidly expanding Osco chain, as well as Jewel, Sav-On, Acme Market, Max Foods and Seessell’s. In July, Albertson’s announced 165 of its stores would be closed, over all its divisions. The company owns 27 Osco drug stores in Iowa and a Jewel drug store in Clinton. More store shut downs could be announced in the next 10 months.
