Des Moines and Cedar Rapids will no longer be the only places in Iowa where people wait in line for hours just to get a simple, tasty desert. When Krispy Kreme Donuts opens its new store in Davenport next week, many thousands of people are expected. A city alderman has requested extra police patrols to handle the forecasted traffic snarls. Some officers will even be assigned to the store between five A-M and 11 P-M. The donut shop is also hiring four off-duty cops to direct traffic and handle crowd control.
