October 4, 2001 By admin

President Bush is proposing an economic booster-pack of tax cuts, more government spending and extended unemployment benefits, but Senator Tom Harkin says it’s time to undo some of the tax cuts passed earlier this year because they’ve hurt long-term interest rates. Harkin says they need to take a look at the “unwise tax” bill passed earlier this year.Harkin says the economic stimulus package has to in some way reassure businesses.Today, Harkin is proposing extending disaster relief to small businesses throughout the country. He says businesses all across the country have been hurt by the September 11 attack.Harkin’s introducing a bill with a Massachusetts Senator to address the small business issue.
