William Penn University confirms they’ve received a second audit report from the U-S Department of Education’s Office of Inspector General. The report says the Oskaloosa school did not adequately document the hours students spent in their “College for Working Adults” program. The report says the number of hours spend in study groups for the program does not meet federal guidelines. The hours are used in part to determine the amount of federal funds students can receive. The report says William Penn overawarded 950-thousand dollars in federal “Family Education Loan” funds, and 239-thousand dollars in Pell Grant funds. William Penn argues that it has satisfied the requirements of the academic hours rule and documented their compliance.
