Rockwell-Collins announces 11-hundred Iowa job cuts

October 11, 2001 By admin

On the heels of a dramatic reduction in airline industry orders, Cedar Rapids-based Rockwell Collins will eliminate more than 11-hundred Iowa jobs by December 1st.
In addition to Cedar Rapids, Rockwell Collins has Iowa facilities in: Coralville, Bellevue, Manchester and Decorah.
The cuts will include those lost through attrition and voluntary layoffs. They’ll come in waves — the first will be 16-hundred-40 jobs worldwide, including 470 in Cedar Rapids and 60 elsewhere in Iowa. Those workers will be notified next week. Then, by the end of November, 890 jobs will be cut worldwide, including 475 in Cedar Rapids and another 135 at other Iowa locations. A third and fourth wave of job cuts will be coming as a total of 28-hundred jobs are cut worldwide.
