The man arrested in eastern Iowa in late September who was suspected of terrorist ties is back in Michigan this morning.
The Secret Service arrested 30-year-old Youseff Hmimssa two weeks ago in his Cedar Rapids apartment. Last week, the U-S Attorney in Chicago issued an indictment accusing Hmimssa of credit card fraud and other charges involving fake I-D’s and an altered passport. Hmimssa was released to U-S Marshals yesterday. He’s scheduled to appear in federal court in Detroit today. The F-B-I now says there is -no- connection between Hmimssa and the September 11th attacks, but he is being questioned about his relationship with other suspects.
