Des Moines police looking for murder suspect

October 15, 2001 By admin

Des Moines police are investigating what they say appears to be a homicide, and have identified a suspect. Lieutenant Kelly Willis says they haven’t yet identified the male victim found this morning.
Willis says they’re searching for male suspect. He says they’re looking for a blue Ford pickup with the license plate 6-2-9-K-B-Y, which may be driven by a man in his 30’s, nicknamed Mike. The department’s press release says the man may be armed with a shotgun, but Willis won’t say if the victim was shot.
Willis says there is some “trauma to the victim’s chest,” but he says they don’t have further details about the death. Willis says they’re asking the public for any information they may have on the man and his whereabouts.
