Legislators hope "Vision Iowa" spurs economic development

October 15, 2001 By admin

Legislators are now hoping the state’s “Vision Iowa” program helps usher the state out of recession. The state is investing big bucks in up to nine big-ticket community projects, like sports arenas and museums. State Representative Steve Falck, a democrat from Stanley, says the program may stimulate the economy.
Falck says the 200-million dollars worth of state investment is just part of the financing for the projects, and the biggest jump-start for the economy will be the construction jobs.
