UNI hires architect for new arena

October 17, 2001 By admin

University of Northern Iowa officials will hire an architect for a proposed new basketball arena on campus. U-N-I athletic director Rick Hartzell says nearly 12-million dollars has been raised for the “McLeod U-S-A Center” which is projected to cost 15-million dollars. Hartzell says this is a key step in getting the process moving forward.
Once construction of the new arena begins, it is expected to be completed in 24 to 36-months.
