Waterloo area residents charged with voter fraud

October 17, 2001 By admin

Eighteen Waterloo area residents face voter fraud charges.
An investigation into the 2000 general election found six Waterloo residents who allegedly voted with absentee ballots, and then voted a second time on Election Day. They’ve been charged with improper voting and violation of Iowa code. The investigation also found 12 people who voted even though they lost their voting rights as convicted felons. Ten of the felons are from Waterloo, one is from Cedar Falls and one is from Dunkerton. Two other violators have yet to be served papers.
