Foottball features key matchups in 4A and 8-man

October 19, 2001 By admin

High school football action tonight in Class 4A, fifth ranked Burlington hosts number three Bettendorf. The winner will wrap up at least a share of the Mississippi Athletic Conference title and an automatic spot in the playoffs.
Burlington coach Tom Plein says the Greyhounds must slow down Bettendorf’s ground game.
In eight-man football, top ranked Adair-Casey visits third rated East Greene, the winner earns a spot in the playoffs. A-C cruised past East Greene 56-6 in a non-district game to open the season but coach Ron Peck says that score was misleading. He calls it a “fluke” game that go out of hand quickly. He says it was not a true picture of the ability of the two teams.
Peck says east Greene can match his team at the line of scrimmage.
