Parade kicks of Red Ribbon Week

October 19, 2001 By admin

Thousands of kids came from schools all over Iowa, for the annual rally in Des Moines kicking off next week’s Red Ribbon anti-drug events.
John Busbee came with kids who make up the Heritage Youth Group, a Des Moines based multicultural performing choir. All the kids walked from Sec Taylor Stadium to Nollen Plaza this morning, to celebrate the 18 years the Red Ribbon campaign has encouraged them to stay away from drugs.
