Farm Service Agency moves into quiet mode to deal with paperwork

October 22, 2001 By admin

The Farm Service Agencies in Iowa’s 99 counties are implementing a “quiet time.”
F-S-A office staff won’t be pulling out their blankets and taking a nap like kindergarten students do during quiet time State F-S-A director Daryl McLaren says it’ll be quite the opposite.
McLaren says the first two hours of the day will be used in each office to get caught up on paperwork. He says the offices are extremely busy this time of year as farmers fax in requests for things such as their loan deficiency payments or “L-D-Ps.”.
McLaren instituted the quite time last year and says it proved to be successful. He says farmers can help.
by holding off visiting your F-S-A office during those first two hours of business. The offices open at 10 a-m and close at 4:30 each day.
