Almost two hundred Iowa Army National Guard soldiers who specialize in helicopter maintenance are being ordered to active duty. Colonel Robert King says the group from Boone will be on active duty for at least a year — possibly two. One-hundred-90 soldiers in Boone and another 50 in Lincoln, Nebraska, will report for duty November 1st. King can’t reveal where the soldiers are going, only that their job will be to repair helicopters.Before the aviation company leaves, Colonel King says there will be a sendoff ceremony at their local bases in Boone and Lincoln.
