Latham returns to House office

October 25, 2001 By admin

For the first time in a week, Iowa Congressman Tom Latham returned to his office in Washington D-C this morning. It was closed after an anthrax-laced letter was sent to South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle’s office. Latham says he’s -not- apprehensive about returning to the building.Latham says he’s “very confident” the security and contamination checks of the House office buildings were thorough. While his office building is now open, Latham says the mailroom remains closed, so Iowans should try to temporarily forget that stand-by phrase of “write to your congressman about it.”Latham was asked if he’s been to the doctor’s office for a check-up to see if he’s been exposed to anything lethal. He says he’s not found any reason to do so.
