Charles Brown, of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, says one class is called “Taking Control of Your Farm Business.” He says it covers basic accounting practices like income statements and balance sheets. The second class being offered is called “Debt Control and Lender Communications.” Brown, the Bureau’s director of farm business services, says the classes can help farmers take financial control of their business.Brown says the two- and three-day classes enable farmers to use their actual farm data to learn what lenders require and to produce a five-year financial performance review of their operations. The first of the courses will be offered starting November 30th in Charles City and they’ll run in various Iowa cities through April. The registration deadline is November 16th. For details, call (515) 225-5751.
