Battered and bruised Hawkeye defense prepares for Badgers

November 2, 2001 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road in the Big Ten tomorrow to play Wisconsin. The defense played well in a loss to Michigan but that unit came out of the game with some injuries. Defensive end Aaron Kampman says the Hawkeyes can not use injuries as an excuse as they head into this weekend’s game at Wisconsin.Kampman says last year’s near upset of the Badgers may have been the turning point for the Iowa program. With Matt Stockdale out for the season following foot surgery, sophomore Benny Sapp becomes the veteran at the cornerback spot. He says all the defensive backs will have to make up for the loss of Stockdale.
