Des Moines police look for murder suspect

November 5, 2001 By admin

Des Moines police are investigating the city’s ninth murder this year. Police say they’re familiar with the house a few blocks south of the state fairgrounds, where the body of 39-year-old Dee Jay Bulman was found about four this morning. Nobody’s under arrest or charged at this time, but police Lieutenant Kelly Willis said at a news conference today that they’re looking for a 37-year-old man who was apparently at the Raccoon Street house last night, as a material witness. Willis says police think the man’s still around town, and want to question him. Three adults and two children live at the house, though neither the dead man nor the man police are seeking lived there. Pending an autopsy, police aren’t saying what killed Bulman, except that he died of multiple injuries.
