While many economists are predicting consumers will hold back during this holiday season, at least one survey goes against that prediction. The survey by the Credit Union National Association showed only 28-percent of its customers planned to spend less. Patrick Jury is the Vice President of the Iowa Credit Union League. They’ve found Iowa credit union members have taken advantage of holiday savings clubs, and have budgeted money to spend for the holidays. Another factor, Jury says many of the credit union members are likely employed.He says credit union members are often affiliated with companies and include working families. Jury says planning ahead is the best way to ensure you have enough money for the holidays.Jury says you can start planning ahead for next year by checking with your credit union or bank to see if they have a Christmas club plan.
