The Iowa National Guard is increasing the number of troops at state airports in response to the President’s call for more security during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Iowa Guard spokesman Colonel Robert King.says they’ll be adding 15 more guardmembers to the 60 already on duty in Des Moines, Sioux City, Dubuque, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Burlington, Fort Dodge and Mason City. King says each of the eight airports will get extra guardmembers.King says the guardmembers feel good about the job they’re doing.He says the guard presence seems to be buoying the spirits of travelers.The first guardmembers were called up by the Governor for airport duty at the end of September, and began that duty in early October.
