Allen hopes to wrench out a bowl game in his final season

The Iowa Hawkeyes close out Big Ten play at home by hosting Minnesota on Saturday. With a victory, the Hawkeyes would clinch their first winning season since 1997 and become bowl eligible. Senior fullback Jeremy Allen would like to end his career at a bowl game.Allen says getting to a bowl game this season would show how much progress the program has made.Allen has become an integral part of the offense and that is something he has enjoyed. He says it’s the best way to end his career.Minnesota coach Glen Mason says he knew the Hawkeyes would be vastly improved this season and he expects a tough game. Mason says the Hawks are better on both sides of the ball.Mason says Iowa’s improvement began at the end of last season as they won two of the last four games and nearly beat his team in the last game of the season.
