Davenport nightclub spurs lawsuit

November 15, 2001 By admin

Remarks about a nightclub in Davenport have sparked a lawsuit. The owner of a teen dance club in Davenport is suing the city, alderman George Nickolas, and KLJB-TV. Frank Barreca owns “The Factory,” and says his business and reputation were damaged because in a TV interview, the alderman quoted anonymous sources saying that lewd activity is allowed at the dance club. Barreca says the video firm that produces the TV station’s news didn’t check to see if the accusations were true. He hasn’t decided how much money he’s suing for.
