Hawkeyes and Cyclones head into matchup with bowl bids possible

November 19, 2001 By admin

This Saturday’s Iowa and Iowa State game should be a fitting end to the regular season and there is plenty on the line. Both teams are 6-4 after lopsided wins on Saturday and the winner will be in a better bowl situation. The Hawkeyes scored three touchdowns in the opening quarter and cruised past Minnesota 42-24. Kirk Ferentz says it was a great way for the seniors to finish at Kinnick Stadium.Iowa took command early and Ferentz says for the second straight week the offense played with tremendous confidence. After a lengthy stay in the Twin Cities, Ferentz says it is good to have Floyd of Rosedale back in Iowa.
