Platitudes abound as ISU and Iowa prepare for big game

The 49th meeting between Iowa State and Iowa is in Ames on Saturday and with both teams bowl eligible it promises to be one of the more anticipated games in the series. Cyclone running back Ennis Haywood says this will be an exciting week of preparation. He says everybody on the team is “geeked up,” as it’s the one week were everybody on the team is ready to go.Haywood wants to end his career unbeaten against the Hawkeyes. He says not too many people can say they never lost to Iowa during their ISU career.Haywood feels playing Iowa at the end of the season has some advantages.He says it gives more time to prepare for them and be at the peak of their game.
