The cost of the average Thanksgiving dinner this year may be just another thing that’ll make you thankful. Last year’s price tag actually went down, but though it’s up in 2001, dinner won’t break the bank. You’re on your own if you want to factor in some tiramisu, tofu, calamari or Belgian endive. But the Iowa Farm Bureau says for a super-traditional menu of turkey, stuffing, cranberries and pumpkin pie for ten, you’ll pay 35 dollars-and-four cents. That’s an increase of 2-67 over last year’s bill but only up a dollar-21 from 1999. If you didn’t catch a sale, turkey’s listed at 95-cents a pound, up 17 cents a pound from last year’s average price.
