UNI off to a good start with just one loss

November 27, 2001 By admin

Northern Iowa is off to a good start under first-year coach Greg McDermott. The Panthers are 3-1 heading into Thursday night’s game at home against Texas-Pan American. A big reason for the success has been the play of senior guard Robbie Sieverding, who is averaging just over 20-points per game after missing last season with a knee injury. McDermott says the confidence that Sieverding plays with is just phenomenal.McDermott says he is pleased with the start as the stats show they’ve made more free throws than their opponents and have turned the ball over less than their opponents.
