Cedar Rapids murder trial opens with many questions

November 28, 2001 By admin

A murder trial laced with sex, mystery and allegations of police mistakes opened Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.Prosecutors claim 30-year-old Carloss Robinson had sex with 20-year-old Christina Sanoubane the night she was killed. They lived in adjoining apartments in Cedar Rapids. Sanoubane’s body was found on Labor Day of 2000. Defense attorneys contend the sex was consensual and claim police failed to seek out other possible suspects like Sanoubane’s abusive boyfriend. She was found facedown in a bathtub and had been killed with a blunt object.
