ISU gets Independence Bowl bid

It came a day later than expected but the Iowa State Cyclones will be headed to the Independence Bowl In Shreveport, Louisiana on December 27th. For the Cyclones it marks a second straight bowl trip.Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says putting together a 7-4 record in a tough Big-12 race was an accomplishment.McCarney says this season has been especially enjoyable because so few thought the Cyclones could duplicate last year’s success.
