Man dies in Osage fire

An elderly man in the northern Iowa town of Osage was killed when his house caught fire Tuesday.91-year-old Lawrence Ballhagen was found by firefighters in the kitchen ofhis home. Firefighters were called to the house at about 3:40 yesterdayafternoon, finding heavy smoke coming from the one-story home. Damage to thehouse was estimated at $35-thousand. The state fire marshal’s office isstill investigating.
