Police rule Baxter baby death and accident

December 6, 2001 By admin

Police have made a ruling in the death of a Baxter infant. Police say the death of 13-month-old Mackenzie Robinson was an accident. An autopsy determined the girl died of heat exhaustion. The baby’s parents put her down for a nap and found the temperature in the room was 117 degrees when the checked on her four hours later. The Jasper County Attorney says the room’s heating device was turned down, and there’s every reason to believe the parents acted appropriately. A decision on charges will be made later.
