A former Midland High School teacher accused of trying to kill his wife has pleaded guilty to lesser charges in Jones County district court. 46-year-old Nicholas Williams of Wyoming Friday pleaded guilty to willful injury as part of a plea agreement. Prosecutors agreed in turn to dismiss charges of attempted murder and felony assault causing serious injury. Prosecutors say on April 11, Williams allegedly choked his wife at their Wyoming home and then threw her to the floor. She was treated at the Anamosa hospital for face and skull fractures. Williams was released on 25-thousand dollars bond. Sentencing’s set for February 8.
