Hawkeyes fall in rankings

The Iowa Hawkeyes have fallen four spots to 15th in the latest USA Today/E-S-P-N coaches top 25. Iowa is 7-3 after Saturday’s victory at Iowa State and coach Steve Alford says that game was a perfect example of how important good bench play is. He says they need to withstand runs and increase the intensity when subs are inserted in the game.Iowa is at home Wednesday to play Drake. Alford says they hope to build off the progress they showed against Iowa State.Senior forward Reggie Evans had a big night against the Cyclones. Alford says Evans has been forced to adjust to defensive schemes he did not see last season as a newcomer.
