When the Iowa Hawkeyes play Texas Tech later this month in the Alamo Bowl the defense will be out to stop one of the nation’s most prolific passers. Junior quarterback Kliff Kingsbury led the Red Raiders to a 7-4 finish in the regular season. Kingsbury leads the nation in completions per game and completion percentage and is fifth in passing and total offense.Tech coach Mike Leach says another key this season has been the play of running back Ricky Williams who suffered a near career-ending knee injury to open the 1999 season when he was considered a Heisman Trophy candidate. He says Williams overcame so much adversity to help out the team.Iowa is 6-5.
