Elkader counselor resigns in wake of allegations of improper touching

An Elkader guidance counselor accused of inappropriately touching two female students has decided to resign.Steven Reagen submitted his resignation Wednesday during a private school board hearing on a recommendation from the superintendent that he be fired. Reagen has been on administrative leave from his job at Central Elkader since the allegations were made that he touched the two students under their clothing. Reagen is charged with two counts of simple assault and will have two trials on the charges in February.
