An anhydrous ammonia pipeline that broke late last week in northern Iowa’s Kossuth County is causing miles of pollution and it’s killing hundreds of thousands of river creatures.A chemical spill has killed fish along 12 miles of Lotts Creek west of Algona, including channel catfish, northern pike, smallmouth bass, bullheads and sunfish, along with all sorts of other animals like frogs, turtles, mice and muskrats. D-N-R officials say the pollution plume may keep killing as it moves downstream, six to seven miles a day.
