New Treasurer elected in Crawford County

December 20, 2001 By admin

Crawford County now has a new Treasurer to replace the man who resigned after admitting to calling a dating service on a county phone. Democrat Judith Groth defeated Ronald Songer in a special election Tuesday to replace Alan Hansohn. Hansohn resigned in August as part of an agreement with prosecutors over phone calls made to a dating service on his county telephone. Hansohn, who is married, made nearly 650 calls between May of 1998 and March of 1999 at a cost of over 700 dollars. Hansohn has issued a public apology and paid the county for the calls and time he spent on the phone when he should have been working.
