Five Iowans from the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration are in New York City volunteering with the clean up at the World Trade Center disaster site. State Labor Commissioner Byron Orton says being away from Iowa is a sacrifice the workers were willing to make. This group is the last of 17 volunteers to serve a one-week tour at “Ground Zero.” Orton says those who’ve already been to New York came back with lots of memories.Orton has been asked to provide volunteers for a second tour of duty, but they haven’t set the dates for those tours yet. The workers arrived in New York yesterday and will return Sunday.
