Troopers say a Chevy Pickup driven by 33-year-old Arnold Smith of Oskaloosa was southbound on a county road about three and-a-half miles south of Beacon when it appears he lost control on a curve, crossed the center line and was hit by a truck driven by 24-year-old Dustin Robb of Tracy. Smith’s truck caught fire on impact. Smith and a passenger in Robb’s pickup were killed. Robb and two other passengers were taken first to a hospital in Oskaloosa, then on to Des Moines. Investigation continues.
