Ottumwa man arrested in string of holdups

January 2, 2002 By admin

A suspect in a string of robberies in southeastern Iowa was picked up this morning.39-year-old Louis Dudicha of Ottumwa was stopped by Oskaloosa police early this morning and charged with a weapons violation. Officers found items in the car believed to be from an armed robbery on New Year’s Day at the Dollar General Store in Pella, and from another holdup at the Dollar General Store in Oskaloosa last month. Dudicha is charged in both robberies and investigators say he may be responsible for as many as five other recent Dollar General store holdups around the state, including at stores in Chariton, Ottumwa and Pleasantville.
