ALCOA is laying off 221-workers at its Davenport facility. General Manager Bob Weatherby says it’s a matter of decreased demand and an increase in competition for the aluminum products produced at the plant. Weatherby says the company will do what it can to help the laid off workers find jobs. The plant still employs over 2,000 workers.
