While state and local governments continue working on homeland security, computer security remains a big issue as well for many companies. That’s prompted Iowa State University to add a graduate certificate program to train “Cybercops” via the Internet. Doug Jacobsen of the I-S-U Computer Science Department says students can take the course from anywhere in the U-S via videotapes and on-line. He says there’s been a demand by people with a master’s degree for a computer security certificate. Jacobsen says you can earn the certificate in two or four semesters.There’s a course on information warfare, one on cryptography, and one on computer networking and protecting a computer network.
