Parkview woman charged with ripping off employer

January 14, 2002 By admin

An eastern Iowa woman is accused of ripping off her former employer. 35-year-old Jodie Schwarz of Parkview is charged with first-degree theft. Police say she manipulated cash deposits and withdrawals and embezzled more than 36-thousand dollars from the American Electronics, Appliances and Furniture store. Police say the crime took place between November 2000 and October 2001. Schwarz was a manager of the store at the time. If convicted, Schwarz could get up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to ten thousand dollars. A plea hearing is set for January 25. If there is no agreement at that time on a plea, Schwarz will go on trial March 18.
