Concert celebrates Arts

Tickets go on sale Monday for a special concert that’ll celebrate Iowa Arts. “Celebrate Iowa: A Gathering of Artists” will be held February 20th at the historic Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. Bruce Williams, coordinator of public art and design for the State Historical Society, says Iowa Arts Awards recipients will be announced, and up to 10 different groups or artists will perform.Greg Brown, an Iowa singer/songwriter who gained fame from appearances on the Prairie Home Companion, will perform at the gala.Tickets may be purchased at the State Historical Building, Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines, C-S-P-S in Cedar Rapids, Sal’s Music Emporium in Iowa City and at the Waterloo Center for the Arts.
