Men make illegal A-T-M withdrawl using a truck and log chain

January 23, 2002 By admin

A deputy sheriff interrupted a theft in progress this morning in Leon, as two men in a pick-up tried to steal an A-T-M from inside a bank. The suspects used a black truck stolen from a Knoxville auto dealership that had plates stolen from Pella. As the suspects used a chain to yank the A-T-M from the bank, a deputy Decatur County Sheriff drove by, and the men fled. They drove through a nearby golf course, hit a shed, then took off on foot. The deputy describes the two white men as between five-eight and six feet tall, of medium to stocky build. Both were wearing ski masks and gloves. One wore a plaid flannel insulated shirt. The other guy wore a white t-shirt and black tennis shoes with white soles.
