C.R. Mayor says federal help is on the way for Homeland Security

Cedar Rapids Mayor Paul Pate was in New York City last week for the National Mayor’s Conference. Pate says they talked about the federal money available for homeland security. He says Iowa will be getting its share as over one billion has been promised to local governments.Pate says his city can use the money to help in securing the eastern Iowa airport.He says they can also use the money to ensure the safety of the city’s infrastructure.Pate says one million dollars has been spent on security in Cedar Rapids since September 11th. Pate joined 260 other mayors for the annual conference.
